Dominic Matar

Dominic Matar is a songwriter and composer. He studied classical piano at the Academie de Musique de Neuilly-sur-Seine near Paris and later spent several years on the indie band circuit in NYC with bands Die Romantik and Carloman. He is a founding member of the post-audio collective House of Resonance.

Dominic's soundtrack credits include feature films, documentaries, commercials, and various promotional videos for clients such as Google, Delphi, Nike Considered, YouTube, Novartis, Hasbro, Maggi and Citibank. His music has been heard in the Architecture and Design Film Festival, the DOC NYC festival, and MoMA.

In addition to his composition work, Dominic is an accomplished songwriter. He was selected by ASCAP to participate in the “Paul Cunningham Songwriters Workshop”, has received multiple ASCAPLUS Award for songwriters and earned recognition from the Unisong International Songwriting Competition. He has had the honor of serving as a music judge for the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Arts Award program, and has released several albums which are available online:

In 2014, Dominic participated in the Gene Clark No Other Tour playing piano alongside members of Beach House, Fleet Foxes, The Walkmen, and Grizzly Bear and Iain Matthews, which culminated in a headlining spot at the 2014 End of the Road festival in the UK.
